The Abstract Louis Riel – Flashpoints in the life
and times of Louis Riel. A series of 22 - 4 x 3
foot panels featuring photo collages comprised
of archival and found artifacts, depicting key moments in Riel’s
life and reflections on Métissage. The exhibit
was mounted and exhibited at many venues over the past 5 years including: the Upper Canada Law Society, Harbourfront Gallery in Toronto and a showing at the
Vancouver 2010 Olympics as a feature of the
Aboriginal Pavilion. The project was completed with the sponsorship of the Métis Artists Collective and was a collaborative project between K.J. McCusker and Bernard Leroux.
